 در ایران روابط جنسی مرضىالطرفين میان اشخاص بالغ و عاقل جرم محسوب می‌شود. ‌از سال ۱۳۵۷ تاکنون، هزاران ایرانی مرعوب شده، در خانه‌هایشان مورد اذیت و آزار قرار گرفته، دستگیر و شکنجه شده، مورد تنبیهات خشن جسمی قرار گرفته، و اعدام شده‌اند. بعضی را دچارعدم تعادل روحی دانسته اند،  برخی دیگر را مجبور به نفی تمایلات جنسی‌شان نموده، و یا به عنوان گناهکار ترغیب به توبه کرده‌اند.

Requests Letter to UK to Revoke Deportation for Gay Iranians (April 3, 08)

Equality Forum, a US headquartered national and international GLBT civil rights organization, called on Presidential candidates Clinton, McCain and Obama to send letters to British Prime Minister Gordon Brown to revoke the deportation orders for the return of gays and lesbians in the UK to Iran.

IGLHRC: Young Man Executed for Alleged Sex Crime (December 05, 07)

IGLHRC Condemns Iran’s Continued Use of Sodomy Laws To Justify Executions and Arbitrary Arrests

(New York, July 18, 2007) - Despite a widely publicized outcry two years ago when Iranian authorities executed two young men in the northeastern city of Mashhed, the government continues to target, arrest, prosecute, and execute individuals under its sodomy law. The International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission (IGLHRC) condemns Iran’s violations of human rights law and asks that human rights groups around the world work to support those targeted by the government.

Iran’s Sodomy Law: Reading Between the Lines

Sodomy laws make it a crime to engage in non-procreative sex. Crimes against nature, deviant sexual conduct, and homosexual conduct are among the many terms used within criminal codes around the world. Frequently, in the context of arrests and imprisonment, an actual act of sodomy has not been committed. Rather, the law is used to target those whose sexuality is believed to defy social norms and preferences for heterosexual relationships and to justify state action in removing the “offenders” from the community.
